From Plowmans to Jay Malone Motors — 45 years of serving central Minnesota.
It Started as Plowmans
The dealership that would become Jay Malone Motors first opened its doors in Hutchinson, MN under the name Plowmans. From the beginning, it was built around the idea that a car dealership should be part of the community — not just a place to buy a vehicle.
Hutchinson Auto Center
The dealership evolved into Hutchinson Auto Center, growing its footprint and reputation in McLeod County. Long-time residents of Glencoe, Litchfield, and Dassel remember buying their first vehicles here during these years.
Jay Malone Takes the Wheel
In 2005, Jay Malone took ownership of the dealership — and brought a new vision with him. His commitment was simple: treat every customer like a neighbor, stand behind every vehicle, and build something the community could be proud of for generations.
Two Franchises, One Family
Under Jay's leadership, the dealership expanded to operate both Jay Malone Ford and Jay Malone Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at one location on Highway 7 West — making it the only dealer in central Minnesota where customers can cross-shop Ford and CDJR vehicles side by side.

Jay Malone — Founder & Owner
Jay took over the dealership in 2005 with a clear vision: build a dealership that Hutchinson could trust for life. Twenty years later, that vision is alive in every sale, every service visit, and every community event Jay Malone Motors is part of.
In 2021, Jay was named the Hutchinson Business Person of the Year — a recognition that reflects not just business success, but the kind of community investment that defines the Jay Malone Motors story.

Jake & Jordan Malone — The Next Generation
Jay's children, Jake and Jordan, have grown up in this dealership — and they've brought energy, fresh ideas, and the same family values that built it. Jake serves as General Manager, leading the sales department and overseeing operations across both franchises. Jordan serves as Assistant General Manager, handling the day-to-day operations of the business while continuing the community-first mission their father started — making sure the Jay Malone name stays synonymous with showing up for Hutchinson, treating customers like neighbors, and building relationships that last long after the sale.
Together, they represent what Jay Malone Motors is becoming — a dealership built to serve this community for another 45 years.
Jordan Malone — 2025 Young Leader of the Year
